First trips

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Yogi has been settling in quickly, but yesterday was his first vet visit and we had to go by the office and to the pet shop, so he was up for a big adventure.

This involved me lugging his crate to the car and back (thank God for elevators!). He was happy at the vets, just for saying hello and weighing. He did very well.

We then said hello at the office, everyone seemed to love him and he is a friendly chap so let everyone cuddle him happily. Later in the evening we went to Pets at Home to get some more puppy paraphenalia. He now has a puppy collar and lead and his own personal tag with his name and my number in case he gets lost.
Microchipping will be done together with his second vaccination a bit later.

We let him out of the crate to walk into the flat when we got back and it was brilliant. He loved being home, prancing around like he’s boss all cocky and full of confidence now he was back on known ground. He also loved his new toys, esp. a little tennis ball and his puppy kong. When he plays he bounces like Pierre the Skunk, he is just too funny to watch. :o )

I will post some more pics this evening.

Have a good day!

Yogi is home

He has settled in incredibly fast I think, immediately taking to his dog bed and even explored the crate all on his own. He eat after about an hour and has peed outside three times and only once indoors and that was partially my fault. He is currently having his third snooze of the day. We are still waiting for him to do his poo, it’s due but despite much motivation, he doesn’t show any interest in relieving himself. I just hope that if he eventually does it, it’ll be outside.

Here are also some first pics.

He is playing and happy, so I think this is the beginning of a wonderful friendship. :o )

Paris

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Beginning of February I will be attending the World Dyslexia Forum in Paris! Very exciting, it’s taking place at the UNESCO Paris, so that will be interesting in itself, but I am really looking forward to this. I always enjoy trade shows and events as it gives you the opportunity to meet people and learn new things. And I still have lots to learn about dyslexia. My company Iansyst will be exhibiting there, my colleague Sharon and I will be (wo)manning the stand. I am sure we’ll have lots of fun.
After the event is over on Friday 5th, Ian will be joining me in Paris and we will have a romantic break in the city of love. Sorry, just had to turn up the cheese factor here.
Can’t wait to stroll around, sit in bistros and look at beautiful things. Hope to get to spend some time at the Musee D’Orsay, been there once before and didn’t have enough time. It’s wonderful as far as museums go!

Regarding travel plans, we will be looking to find a cottage in Cornwall this summer with Yogi. There will be updates on this. Seen some beautiful ones yesterday online, have to get back to that search with Ian sometime soon, to sort this out.

Ok my wrists start aching, I better stop writing for today.

Goodnight

welcome to my crazy world

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Hello everyone, well if there is anyone out there that bothers to read this.

I am a bad blogger, I have tried before, and I am not writing everyday, but I vow to better myself here and start afresh. Still not going to be updating this every day I think, but we’ll see.

Currently there is one thing that dominates my thoughts, and that that is the arrival of Yogi.

No Yogi is not some spritual Indian guru, he is a little Border Terrier puppy and we will pick him up from the breeder coming Sunday.
Basatopa's Yogi

I have a distinct feeling that he will be featuring here quite a bit. So watch out for pics and stories of toilet training and his first steps in his new world.

Otherwise I just try to get by with work and at home.

So watch this space.
